| The Template Instruction Letter (DAR) replaces the Template Surveyor Instruction Letter which was previously available to Managing Trustees instructing their surveyor to prepare a Qualified Surveyor’s Report. The Template Instruction Letter (DAR) takes on board the reforms made to the Charities Act 2011 which came into force on 14th June 2023 and is available to Managing Trustees instructing their designated adviser to prepare a Designated Adviser’s Report (DAR). This document accompanies the Template DAR and the Template (Shortform) DAR available here . The new Template Instruction Letter (DAR) is available from the same web address (URL) as the previous Template Surveyor Instruction Letter to safeguard existing links. |
The template letter of instruction to designated advisers (Template Instruction Letter (DAR)) has been prepared for use by Managing Trustees who are instructing their designated adviser to prepare a Designated Adviser’s Report (DAR) using the Template DAR which conforms to the Charities (Dispositions of Land: Designated Advisers and Reports) Regulations 2023 and Section 119 of the Charities Act 2011 (as amended).
The Template Instruction Letter should be used in conjunction with the Template DAR. Before using the Template Instruction Letter, please read the accompanying guidance on the Template DAR page of the Website.
This document should be downloaded as a Word file so that you can fill in the sections that need to be completed e.g. to confirm the name of the instructing Managing Trustee body. Please also decide whether you wish to include the optional paragraphs in square brackets. Once you are happy with you letter you will be able to print it out on the Managing Trustee body’s letterhead.
