Building Contracts for works to Methodist Properties
TMCP has updated its COVID-19 and its effect upon Building Contracts and works to Methodist Churches Focus Note following the updated advice from the Government. The guidance contains a number of FAQs to assist Managing Trustees and a new FAQ has been added which addresses works to Manses.
The updated Focus Note compliments the guidance available on the Methodist Church website relating to reopening of church buildings for repairs and other works projects. Please refer to the Connexional Team’s Construction COVID-19 FAQs. The Connexional Team also have produced a Covid-19 Risk Assessment that Managing Trustees should complete before re-opening church buildings and then ensure that they implement measures identified in the risk assessment. There is also a Re-Opening a Building Checklist to assist Managing Trustees.
Queries relating to the re-opening of Methodist buildings for repairs, maintenance or construction works should be directed to the Connexional Property Support team.
Any legal questions about the contract Managing Trustees may have with their contractor/builder or please contact TMCP Legal using the contact form on our website or by emailing legal@tmcp.org.uk. TMCP Legal can also look at the terms of the contract for works to a Methodist building and provide guidance on the terms and condition contained within it.
