Your chance to respond to the National Churches Survey
The National Churches Trust has extended its deadline for responding to the National Churches Trust survey until Sunday 13 July.
The Connexional Team has asked us to draw your attention to the extended opportunity to complete the survey if you have not had chance already.
What is the National Churches Trust survey?
The survey is an opportunity to have your voice heard and tell policymakers and wider public about your Local Church and others like it.
Why complete the survey?
In their own words, the National Churches Trust state that the survey will:
“provide essential evidence so that together we can address some of the biggest challenges facing churches, like yours, and help ensure their future”.
They state that:
“It will help journalists, politicians and decision-makers to better understand church buildings, challenging misconceptions, and enabling better support for those who keep them open and in good repair.
It will also bring greater attention to the issues that churches face and the amazing things that they do.”
How do I complete the survey?
The survey can be accessed here and should take about 30 minutes to complete if you have the information you need to hand (including volunteer numbers and financial information).
The National Churches Trust recommend reading their guidance and FAQs before completing the survey. They also suggest completing the survey as a team including those who look after your building and deal with your accounts.
Managing Trustees are encouraged to complete the survey if at all possible due to recent cuts to the Listed Places of Worship Grant Scheme and general pressures on public spending.
