Why join these Webinars?  As charity trustees, it is important that Managing Trustees keep updated on the latest guidance, as well as the expectations, legal duties, and best practices placed upon you. The Legal and Constitutional Practice Team (LCP) have asked us to let you know that the Charity Commission are hosting some free online webinars for you to attend.

By special resolution the members of the 2024 Conference helpfully decided that memoranda of consent will no longer be executed on disposals of Methodist property in England and Wales. A memorandum of consent was previously executed on behalf of the Methodist Council under Model Trust 26 and provided to the buyer or tenant when a property was sold, let or otherwise disposed of.

Many of you will already be familiar with the Methodist Panel of Solicitors, a panel introduced by the Methodist Church in 2018 to act for Managing Trustees in legal matters and provide advice (the Panel). The level of support provided to Managing Trustees by the Panel is reviewed regularly, and a further tender process took place in 2023.

TMCP would like to welcome HCR onto the Methodist panel of Solicitors. HCR join Anthony Collins, Blake Morgan and Sintons on the panel and, together with their fellow panel firms, are here to assist you.
