We are pleased to announce that the role of “Data Champion” has now been added to the Connexional Database. Local Churches, Circuits and Districts can add their Data Champions using the online suite. Please do so as soon as possible so that those looking for help within your Local Church, Circuit and/or District know who their Data Champion is and can get in touch.

Following the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on 25th May 2018, there are new and updated resources available to download from the data protection page.

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 (which enshrines GDPR into UK law), are now in force. You may be coming to the end of all those emails telling you how much everybody cares about your data but the real question is, what has really changed and what do you need to do (or continue doing) now?

TMCP is providing a further training session on the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) on 13th July 2018 in Plymouth. Places are still available and the Data Protection Working party encourage those Managing Trustees responsible for Data Protection to attend, if they have not attended any training to date.

The Managing Trustees’ Privacy Notice (MT Privacy Notice) is now available on TMCP’s website. You have no doubt been receiving many emails over the last few weeks from anybody you have ever donated to or bought goods from telling you how important your privacy is to them and notifying you about their new privacy notice.

TMCP have now been notified of the next stage of consultation for the HS2 Development scheme. This consultation affects both the West Coast Mainline routes to Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Edinburgh and the East Coast Mainline route to Newcastle. Anyone concerned that the development may affect Methodist premises should obtain further information from www.hs2.org.uk.
